Career Guidance Program
Action Group for Rural Advancement has organised a Career Guidance Programme on 11th October 2018 at 10AM to 4PM for the students of Manabendra Sarma Girls College, Rangia. The reason behind organising this programme is to provide awareness about different scopes, career options, educational options, job market and life skills after graduation as well as to give motivation and encouragement for further studies to the students of that College by the invited resource persons. Program: Career Guidance Program Date and Duration: 11th October 2018 at 10 AM to 4 PM Venue: Manabendra Sarma Girls College, Rangia Resource Persons: Collaboration: Department of Social Work, University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya Total Gathering: Total of 250 students from the Manabendra Sarma Girls College, Rangia have gathered in the programme. Outcome: From this career guidance program students can be able to make informed decisions about their academic path and can feel more confident in pursuing their personal goals. With the help of this program students can figure out what they want to do with their lives and how they can prepare for the future. Career guidance can provide them with information and resources which can help them in making important decisions related to careers. Also most importantly career guidance program can boosts self-esteem, improve motivation and confidence among students which can lead to encourage them in choosing a better career.
Street Play Program
Action Group for Rural Advancement has performed a Street Play on “Swatch Bharat” on 8th October 2018 at 9.30 AM to 9.45 AM. The play is all about the use of dustbin in the city of Rangia and also to give people awareness about the use of dustbin; because the people of Rangia are not aware about using a dustbin can be very beneficial for our environment as well as for health. Due to that Rangia Municipal Corporation did not clean the city properly and as a result this can pollutes our environment . The play is done the occasion of “Swachhata Hi Seva” Movement of “Swachh Bharat Mission” of Government of India. Rally on Swachh Bharat Program
Action Group for Rural Advancement has conducted a rally on “Swachhata Hi Seva Movement” of Government of India on 1st Oct 2018 at 10 AM to 12 PM at Rangia. Many people of Rangia have joined in the rally and along with them few Private Junior Colleges of Rangia have also participated in the rally, which makes the rally more effective and valuable for the “Swachh Bharat Mission” programme and after the rally everybody went for the Cleanliness drive of the surroundings of Rangia. Programme: Rally on Swatch Bharat (Swachhata Hi Seva Movement from Government of India) Date and Duration: 1st Oct 2018 at 10 AM to 12 PM Resource person: Ripan Jyoti Nath, ACS, Election Officer SDO(c), Rangia. Collaboration: Rangia CHC (Superintendent- Dr. Dilip Baishya) Total Gathering: Total of 150 nos of people and students have gathered in this rally. Outcome: This program helped in raising awareness among the general public about the importance of cleanliness and its impact on health, environment and on the overall well-being.
Participatory Rural Appraisal Program (PRA)
Action Group for rural Advancement has conducted the Participatory Rural Appraisal Programme at Sauraguri, Tamulpur on 4th October 2018 in presence of BTR CEM Sri Pramod Boro. The PRA is an assessment and learning approach that places emphasis on empowering local people so that they can analyse their own living conditions, health problems and potentials. Programme: Participatory Rural Appraisal Programme Date: 4th October, 2018 Venue: Sauraguri, Tamulpur Invited Person: Pramod Boro, BTR CEM Outcome: After the completion of PRA Programme, we get to know about the actual problem of that area and the mindset of people of Sauraguri village that they are not even interested to know about their health issues and usually they ignore those problems due to which the village people are facing a different types of health issues like blood pressure, blood sugar etc. By this PRA approach we aimed to incorporate the knowledge and opinions of rural people in the planning and management of development of projects and programmes and also we aimed to empower communities by engaging local residents in the processes of identifying issues, implementing solutions and monitoring evaluation.
Awareness and Plantation Program
Action Group for Rural Advancement had organized a Plantation drive and an awareness programme on the importance of planting saplings at Bardal Primary School on 2nd September 2018. As we all know that the benefits of planting tress is massive. As the world advances and pollutes the environment, the only possible way to make people realise the basics and to make people reunite with nature is to bring awareness on the planting of trees. Awareness program on cancer
Action Group for Rural Advancement has conducted an awareness program on Cancer at 163 no Uttar Bardal Primary School related to young Men and Women. The mentioned program has especially focused on the young men because of the impact of tobacco among them and by the time the uses of tobacco has also increased. In India, the incidence of cancer is increasing rapidly; therefore it is important to step up cancer literacy and knowledge amongst the people. We hope that this will lead to early detection which is important in the prevention and treatment of cancer by making necessary changes in lifestyle. Programme: One day Awareness Programme on cancer. Date and Duration: 2nd September 2018 Venue: 163 no Uttar Bardal Primary School, Bardal Resource person: Dr. Pankaj Kalita, (Kaurbaha C.H.C) Total gathering: 50 nos of Bardal area people, among them 30 nos of women and 20 nos of men were present. Outcome: Women are aware of Breast Cancer symptoms and everybody gets the awareness of how tobacco can be a cause of Cancer and the other causes of Cancer.
