Action Group for Rural Advancement had conducted several training for farmers in all the districts of BTR in collaborations with Creatives Rural Development Society. The purpose of this training is all about train different farmers from different area. All programmes are cropping based system that have approached training on Rice and Pulse under NFSM. Programme: Training Programme of Farmers Place: All districts of BTR Outcome: In this programme a total of 2000 numbers of beneficiary have able to received the training. All the farmers have understand about the farming system and how to use their own land for farming and most importantly farmers have understand about the use and earn and double income.
Flood Relief Camp
Action Group for Rural Advancement had conducted flood relief camp several times in different places like Athgaon, Kamalpur and Bagribari. We try to distribute the basic needs of flood affected people i.e. food, cloths, water, medicines, sanitary pads for women, antiseptic soap etc. Therefore its very important to organise a flood relief camp or simply make donations to those affected families because when flood strike, our donation helps to provide shelter, food and comfort to families of affected regions. Programme: Flood relief camp Place: Athgaon, Kamalpur and Bagribari. Outcome: In the relief camp 150 numbers of beneficiary have received the relief items, which have helped the people to get some basic items for living in those conditions. We as an NGO also request other non-affected region people to donate whatever they can by their hand so that we can expand our services to other places also.
Health Camp Program, 30th May 2019
Action Group for Rural Advancement had organised a free health camp on 30th May 2019 from 10 AM to 2 PM at Guiya Basudev Sangha, Guiya, Kamalpur. The free health camp is organised for all the age group people and doctors have assigned in the camp and medicines have also provided for those people who have required. Many important health test like blood sugar, blood pressure, ECG, eye check up etc done in free of cost. Programme: Free Health Camp Date and Duration: 30th May 2019 from 10 AM to 2 PM Venue: Guiya Basudev Sangha, Guiya, Kamalpur Total Gathering: Total of 300 people have came to the camp Collaboration: GNRC North Guwahati Outcome: Through this free health camp we have find out that many people are suffering from different kind of health issues like blood sugar, blood pressure, joint pain, visual issues of eyes, hearing problems of ear etc because of their food habit and mostly in some cases they don’t go through proper medication which can make them unhealthy. People have now aware about their health conditions by coming to the health camp. After organizing a successful free health camp now we can assure that maximum people are aware about the different symptoms of different diseases which can help in preventing the spread of that disease and will help the people to live a disease free life if they go through proper medication and early prevention.
Career Guidance Program,20th May 2019
Action Group for Rural Advancement had organised a Career guidance programme on 20th May 2019 from 10.30 AM to 1 PM at Adarsha Jatiya Vidyalaya, Gasbari. The programme has been arranged for the passed-out students of Class 10; thosewho are about to take the initial steps for their upcoming future and to show them different career scopes and the opportunities and also to motivate them for further higher studies and for a successful lifestyle by our invited resource persons. Programme: Career Guidance Programme Date and Duration: 20th May 2019 from 10.30 AM to 1 PM Venue: Adarsha Jatiya Vidyalaya, Gasbari. Resource person: 1. Dipak Kalita, Principal, Rangia Higher Secondary School, Rangia 2. Uddipta Singha Lahkar, Former faculty of Department of Social Work, University of Science & Technology, Meghalaya. Total Gathering: Total of 100 people gathered in the programme including the students of Class Vlll, lX and X and also the parents of Class X passed out students. Outcome: From this career guidance programme we can say that the students who are not able to find their right career choice or not able to decide about what course they should join; have got their answers and also got the confidence of join in one specific course as well as they have got much knowledges about different courses and their opportunities in future studies. In that programme the invited resource persons have also discussed about different professional courses and their job opportunities in which they can join for example Social Work course, Journalism etc. Also they get aware about the civil service examination. Majority of the students and parents are very happy to be a part of this kind of programme and everybody have gained knowledge from this programme about different scopes, opportunities, courses, examinations etc.
Street Play Program,2nd April 2019
Action Group for Rural Advancement had organised a street play programme on “Drug Addiction” on 2nd April 2019 from 11 AM to 11.30 AM at Rangia Community Health Centre on the occasion of “MANTHAN- India’s Largest Street Play Festival”. The purpose of play is about how young generation are easily getting addicted to different drugs, tobacco, alcohol etc and also this generation have stopped their education and not interested in building a good future due to the effect of different drugs. Programme: Street Play on “Drug Addiction” Date and Duration: 2nd April 2019 from 11 AM to 11.30 AM Venue: Rangia Community Health Centre Outcome: Through this play on drug addiction we have tried to make the young generation aware about academic difficulties, health-related problems including mental health, poor peer relationships etc because of having drugs.
Cancer Screening and Awareness Program,9th March 2019
Action Group for Rural Advancement had organised a Cancer Screening test and Awareness Camp on 9th March 2019 at 252 no Sonmaguri Primary School, Dimu, Rangia. The camp has been done for the people of all age group and sex. The programme has conducted In Kamrup Rural district because there is a lack of awareness about cancer disease, about the cancer treatment, early symptoms and the causes of cancer and most importantly the cases have also been increasing day by day. The primary goal is to promote and develop awareness in the public and emphasize the importance of early detection; all of which play a major role in the treatment of cancer. Cancer awareness can also lead to people making healthier lifestyle choices. Programme: One day Cancer Screening and Awareness Camp Date: 9th March Venue: 252 no Sonmaguri Primary School, Dimu, Rangia. Collaboration: Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati and Sanjeevani-Life Beyond Cancer Organization. Total Gathering: A total of 250 people have came to the camp. Outcome: At Kamrup(R) district the cancer patients are highly increasing and peple are not aware about the cancer disease symptoms and where the treatment is available. From a pilot study by AGRA, we are able to know that the people of Sonmaguri village are addicted to drugs, alcohol, tobacco etc and they feel shame to show or go for checkup to hospitals. Through the camp we have found 3 men and 1 women are suffering cancer and they have been connected with Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati and Sanjeevani-Life Beyond Cancer Organization for their treatment. We as a NGO feel happy and successful also at same time to provide people a good health and awareness about such diseases which is deadly.
Food Donation Program,24th February, 2019
Action Group for Rural Advancement had collected items for the food donation programme at Rangia, Kamalpur and Dimu on 24th February 2019 and AGRA had also advertised in the social media platform for the collection of food to donate in the Children’s Home at Sishu Mangal Kendra Noonmati, Guwahati; So that the willing people can participate in donation. In a world where millions of people struggle to secure their next meal, food donation drives provide much needed lifeline to people in need as a result people can maintain a healthy lifestyle. Programme: Food Donation to Children’s Home Date: 24th February, 2019 Venue: Sishu Mangal Kendra, Noonmati, Guwahati. Outcome: When children’s specially from a Orphanage home are aware that someone is donating for their benefit, it can lead to several positive effects on their lives and development; for example they feel support from wider community, also they can get motivation for schooling and to achieve their goals, they feel gratitude and they can get inspiration for future volunteer activities and to get themselves involved in humanitarian activities.

The programme has organized on the basis of Participatory Rural Appraisal Programme that has been conducted before at Sauraguri village on 4th October 2018 with the help of Mr. Pramod Boro, BTR Chief to improve the health condition of the people. Action Group for Rural Advancement has conducted a Cloth Donation Programme on 28th November at Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati. For the Programme AGRA had collected items for donation at Rangia for the “Cloth Bank” and the cloths have distributed to the patients of Dr. B. Barooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati. The cloth bank is maintaining by “Sumki Begum, Programme Executive of Sanjeevani-Life Beyond Cancer”. Programme: Cloth Donation to the “Cloth Bank” as well as to the patients of Dr. B. Children’s Day Celebration Program, 14th November, 2018
Action Group for Rural Advancement has organized an Art Competition on the occasion of Children’s Day on 14th November, 2018 at Uttar Bardal Primary School, Rangia. Children’s Day celebration programme aims to raise awareness about children’s rights and the challenges they face globally such as poverty, lack of access to education, healthcare and child labor. Also this celebration can make learning a joyful experience for children. Programme: Art competition at Bardal, Rangia Date: 14th November, 2018 Venue: 163 no Uttar Bardal Primary School, Bardal, Rangia. Invited person: Farooq Hussain, Senior Reporter, Rangia press club. Total gathering: Total of 100 students have participated in the competition. Outcome: By organizing the art competition we get to know that all the students are very much interested in doing Art, Crafts etc. The art competition on Children’s day has motivated all the students of Bardal Primary School and helped them to develop their creative skills by exposing them to the contemporary talent in the field. Students have got the opportunity to analyse and evaluate their techniques and outcomes by observing the work of their peers.
