Action Group for Rural Advancement have organised a free health camp at Dakshin Pashim Rangia Anchalik Hari Mandir, Mahkhali, Rangia in collaboration with PEWS Group of Institutions, Guwahati. The free health camp is organised for all the age group people and doctors have assigned in the camp and medicines have also provided for those people who have required. Many important health test like blood sugar, blood pressure, ECG, eye check up, physiotherapy etc done in free of cost. People have now aware about their health conditions by coming to the health camp. After organizing a successful free health camp now, we can assure that maximum people are aware about the different symptoms of different diseases which can help in preventing the spread of that disease and will help the people to live a disease-free life if they go through proper medication and early prevention.
Distribution of Cloths and Blanket, Tamulpur
Action Group for Rural Advancement have distributed cloths and blanket on different occasion in different places for the needy poor people specially in winter season. Place: Teteliguri and Botiamari and Mendicant people Outcome: Donating cloths and blankets in winters help people to get comfort, they become a shield against the biting cold. We as a NGO tried to provide them warmth and protection to those who may not have a place to call home by donating cloths and blankets.
Women’s Day Celebration, Tamulpur
Action Group for Rural Advancement have celebrated women’s day at Tamulpur to empower women and to motivate them in their lives. Nutrition Awareness Program, Tamulpur
Action Group for Rural Advancement have arranged a nutrition programme at different school and villages of Tamulpur block in collaboration with UNICEF and BTR Govt and Anamika Memorial Trust by showing the health condition of women and children of those village areas. Programme: Nutrition Awareness Place: Tamulpur block Outcome: In this programme total of 1500nos of beneficiaries have joined the awareness camp where women, children and other people have understand about how to build a good health and also aaking nutrition rich food during the pregnancy of a women is very important for both the mother and child’s health and growth.
Workshop on Handloom Skills on Rural Economy, Tamulpur
Action Group for Rural Advancement have organised several workshops in different places of BTR on Handloom skills for Rural Economy in Collaboration with BTR Govt and SHG. Programme: Workshop on Handloom skills on Rural Economy Place: Tamulpur High School, Naokata, Bhuyankhat, Chirang, Kokrajhar etc Outcome: In the workshop total of 400 nos of beneficiaries have received the training programme and the workshop will help the women mainly in making handloom products which further lead them to help financially by developing a business.
Awareness Program on COVID-19, Bholajhar
Action Group for Rural Advancement have organised an awareness programme on Covid-19 by arranging an Art and Quiz competitions at Arunodai Bidya Niketan, Bholajhar. It is important to aware the students and people about covid-19 because the virus may survive on surfaces for several hours, but simple disinfectants can kill many people and also the virus can be transmitted to others from someone who is infected but not showing symptoms. Together we can slow the spread of Covid-19 by making a conscious effort like such awareness programmes to make people understand about the covid virus mainly in village areas. Food distribution Program during the lockdown of Covid-19
Action Group for Rural Advancement have organised a food distribution programme at Uparkhuti and Baksa during the lockdown of Covid-19 pandemic times which have affected everyone globally, where some people have affected with both the corona virus disease, survival and livelihood situations. As no country are getting any substantial relief and solution from this lockdown situations and their effects in livelihood and not getting proper food, therefore we as a NGO decided to support the families financially as well as mainly distributed food to them. Programme: Food distribution Place: Uparkhuti and Baksa Outcome: Total of 100nos of beneficiary have received food items. The objective and motive of this camp is to support the people who lost their jobs and source of income during the covid-19 pandemic.
Rural Camp Organized Program, Tamulpur
Action Group for Rural Advancement have organised a rural camp at Baksa and Tamulpur for the students of MSW and BSW department of social work, University of Science and Technology, Meghalaya. The purpose of arranging the camp is to provides the opportunity to all the student trainees to explore the application of various social work methods, tools and skills. On the occasion of Durga Puja members of Action Group for Rural Advancement have distributed dustbin in all the puja area places of Rangia for a clean society environment because dustbins play a critical role in promoting a clean and healthy environment by providing a convenient and efficient way to dispose of waste. Gandhi Jayanti Celebration, 2nd October 2019
Action Group for Rural Advancement have organised an Art and Singing competition to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti at Rangia on 2nd October 2019. And it is observed in all of India’s states and territories to honour the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi. Programme: Art and Singing competition on Gandhi Jayanti. Place: Rangia Date: 2nd October 2019 Outcome: By organizing the art and singing competition we get to know that all the students are very much interested in doing Art, Crafts, singing and other cultural activities etc. This competitions on Gandhi Jayanti has motivated all the students of Rangia and helped them to develop their creative skills by exposing them to the contemporary talent in the field. Students have got the opportunity to analyse and evaluate their techniques and outcomes by observing the work of their peers. For children, this day is an opportunity to learn about the principles of truth, non-violence, and social change in a way that’s engaging and meaningful.
